Dear Members, Family and Friends of the AJRA,

First, I would like to introduce myself.  My name is Sophie Dunn.  I am a 15 year- old Sophomore at Permian High School in Odessa, Texas.  I have a wonderful and supportive family including my mom and dad, Vanessa and Tony and sisters, Brinlee and Sydney.  Besides the AJRA, I am a current member of Region 2, Texas High School Rodeo Association.  In high school rodeo, I compete in barrels, poles, goat tying, breakaway and team roping as well as cutting.  Last year, I was chosen to compete in Las Vegas at the Roy Cooper Invitational Roping.  I also enjoy tumbling and running track for Permian.

At the 2017 AJRA National Finals, I was extremely excited and blessed to be elected your 2018 Miss AJRA.  I have been a member of the AJRA for 6 years. I am a two time Reserve World Champion and a three time World Champion in poles, goats and optional roping.  I really enjoy the level of competition as well as the friendships made throughout my time as an AJRA member.

As Miss AJRA, I hope to inspire our younger competitors as well as be a voice for our members.  I am working closely with our adult directors and with our 2018 President, Brendan Bennett, to make the AJRA better than ever.  I am looking forward to a great year, with great people in the greatest association.  May you all be blessed with clean runs and good draws this season.

Sophie Dunn
